Mortgage rates have been pushed down to their current levels over the past week by growing fears about the debt issues in Europe and economic data coming out of the US that indicates the economy may not be as healthy as previously thought.

Today more global concerns came to the forefront in the from of China’s first quarter GDP showing growth of 8.1%. This figure is lower than the anticipated growth of 8.4% anticipated by market.

Earlier this week, 15 Year Fixed Mortgage rates hit all time historic record lows. The average rate for a 15 Year Fixed Mortgage fell to 3.88% yesterday according to Freddie Mac.
